About Sure Thing Press

Sure Thing Press publishes short, practical books for people who have to make real decisions with imperfect information. That covers almost everyone.

The books are written by Raye Bellinger, MD, a cardiologist who has spent his career with patients and families in hard situations, sometimes life-threatening ones. Medicine teaches you quickly that people rarely get the facts in a neat package. They get them in a hurry, from mixed sources, while frightened or tired or being told what to think. The books come from that experience.

Why “Sure Thing”?

The hardest question most of us face is a simple one: what is the sure thing? Which claim can I trust, which choice is right, which path will hold up? We are surrounded by people telling us they know. Usually they don’t.

Every book from Sure Thing Press starts from that question. The books don’t hand you answers. They help you ask better questions, some of which have clear answers and some of which don’t, and they give you a practical way to work toward a decision you can stand behind. Critical thinking isn’t an academic exercise. It is how you find the sure thing, or recognize when there isn’t one.

What We Publish

Our nonfiction covers how we think, how we decide, and how we look after the people who depend on us. Some books deal with information: where a claim came from, and why being wrong can feel exactly like being right. Others deal with health, caregiving, raising children, and living with new technology. Each one stands on its own. Together they make a toolkit for clear thinking.

We also publish fiction. Our novels take the same questions into story, where the stakes are higher and the answers less obvious.
